The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) launched in August 20th, 2012, the Strategic Program for Software and IT Services, called TI Maior, with the intent of boosting the software and services industry in the Information Technology (IT) field.
With investment of about R$ 500 million for the period between 2012 and 2015, TI Maior is structured around 5 pillars: social and economic development; international positioning; innovation and entrepreneurism; cientific, technological and innovation production; and competiveness. The resources will be subventioned through the Financiadora de Estudos e Projetos (Brazilian Innovation Agency – Finep/MCTI) and Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (National Council for Scientific and Technological Development – CNPq/MCTI).
TI Maior anticipates actions such aslike: the acceleration of technological-based companies, the consolidation of digital ecosystems; the preference for governmental purchase of software with domestic technology; the qualification of young people to work in IT and IT related fields and the attraction of global research centers.
