The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) promotes Brazilian products and services abroad and attracts foreign investments to strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy.

The Agency organizes diversified trade promotion actions with the aim of promoting Brazilian exports and marketing Brazilian products abroad. The Agency´s efforts comprise, inter alia, business platforms like trade and prospective missions, business rounds, support to the participation of Brazilian companies in major international trade fairs, organization of technical visits of foreign buyers and opinion makers with the aim of introducing them to the Brazilian productive structure and other selected initiatives designed to strengthen Brasil´s brand.

Apex-Brasil coordinates the actions related to foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction into Brazil, seeking to allocate resources in sectors of strategic relevance for the development of the competitiveness of Brazilian companies and of the country itself.

CNPq

The National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) is an agency linked to the Ministry of Science and Tecnologia (MCT), dedicated to the promotion of scientific and technological research and to the formation of human resources for research in the country. Its history is directly linked to the scientific and technological development of Brazil.The functional structure of CNPq comprehends an Executive Board of Directors, responsible for the management of the institution, and a Deliberative Council, responsible for the institution’s policies. In addition to the participation in these bodies, the Brazilian scientific and technological community also takes part in the management of policies by means of the Thematic and Advising Committees.

Softex

The Association for Promotion of Brazilian Software Excellence (Softex) has conducted since 1996 support, development and promotion initiatives to boost the Brazilian IT Software & Service Industry, one of the biggest worldwide, known for its creativity, competence and source of talents.

With projects in the areas of quality, investments, internationalization, intelligence and innovation, Softex, as Public Interest Civil Society Organization (‘OSCIP’), contributes significantly toward increasing the competitiveness of companies from the sector and has a strategic role in the national and international success of these companies.

Designated by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (‘MCTI’) to act as manager of the Program for Promotion of Brazilian Software Excellence – SOFTEX Program, the entity benefits over 2 thousand companies in the entire national territory through a network made up of 20 regional agents. This Softex System guarantees an efficient aid in the operational, financing and qualification areas of associate companies through a broad and solid articulation of partners from the private initiative, government and academia.

Anprotec

Established in 1987, Anprotec – Brazilian Association of Science Parks and Business Incubators has approximately 280 members, including business incubators, science parks, education and research institutions, government bodies and other entities focused on entrepreneurship and innovation. As the leader of the movement in Brazil, the Association operates through training activities and the articulation of public policies as well as the generation and propagation of knowledge.

Anprotec’s trajectory is directly linked to the development of Brazilian business incubators and science parks. Founded in 1976, Assespro is legitimate and oldest business entity Sector. During those nearly four decades, Assespro has defended the interests of national companies and national industry of information technology.

BNDES

The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) is the main financing agent for development in Brazil. Since its foundation, in 1952, the BNDES has played a fundamental role in stimulating the expansion of industry and infrastructure in the country. Over the course of the Bank’s history, its operations have evolved in accordance with the Brazilian socio-economic challenges, and now they include support for exports, technological innovation, sustainable socio-environmental development and the modernization of public administration.

MRE – Ministério das Relações Exteriores

The Ministry of Foreign Relations (Ministério das Relações Exteriores – MRE) is the political Administration organization whose mission is to support the President of the Republic in formulating Brazil’s foreign relations policy, maintain diplomatic relationships with the governments of foreign States, international organizations and to promote the interests of the State and of the Brazilian society internationally.

The MRE is responsible for the following sectors:

1. International policy;

2. Diplomatic relations and consular services;

3. Participation in commercial, economic, technical and cultural negotiations with foreign governments and organizations;

4. International cooperation programs and commercial promotion; and

5. Support to Brazilian delegations, committees and representatives in international and multilateral agencies and organizations.

1. To execute the foreign policy directives as established by the President of the Republic;

2. To propose to the President of the Republic lines of action in conducting foreign business;

3. To collect information necessary for correctly formulating and executing Brazil’s foreign policy, taking into account the interests of national security and development;

4. To contribute to the formulation and implementation, on an international level, of policies of interest to the State and to the society that collaborate with organizations within the Brazilian civil society;

5. To manage political, economic, judiciary, commercial, cultural scientific, technical and technological relations of Brazil with the international society;

6. To negotiate and oversee treaties, agreements and other international actions;

7. To promote the interests of the government, of public and private institutions, of companies and Brazilian citizens that are abroad.
